After watching people interview experts and them documenting what really works, this is what I learned. I think the first and most important thing is to test your mic and sound before doing anything, mainly because you could get the best footage of the video and you play it back and its just static. Secondly, using the rule of thirds to make the look of the video more appealing to the eye and more professional. After your sound and visual is looking good, you're gonna want to know what kinds of questions to ask to get the best answers from, for example ask questions like, " why do you do what you do?" or " what kind of difference are you aiming to make?" and lastly the best question you should ask at the end of any interview, "is there anything else you would like to add?" This question will sometimes give you the best footage or answers. And finally when you've got all your footage and its time to edit, you take the time to make sure you're only getting the minimal of the best answers and cut out any long pauses and make sure it matches with the natural sounds.
